Study a Profession or Vocational Training in Spain

Would you like to study a profession in Spain? Yes, it is possible! Many people believe that studying a regulated profession or trade outside of Chile, or outside their home country, is extremely complex, but I must tell you that it is not. On the contrary, the situation is much simpler than it seems.

HOW TO START?

Firstly, in order to enter university and/or study vocational training, you must homologate your high school or bachillerato studies. With this homologation, at least in the “in process” state, you will be able to apply to the various authorized higher education institutions in Spain.

HOMOLOGATION OF HIGH SCHOOL DEGREE

To homologate your pre-university studies, you will need to:

  • Obtain your high school grades.
  • Obtain your high school completion certificate, which shows that you have finished your bachillerato studies.
  • This documentation must be properly apostilled or legalized, as required.
  • Pay the Model 790 fee, which is approximately 44 euros.
  • Submit the application through the platform.

Next Steps Depending on Your Study Path

Secondly, you will need to follow a different path depending on whether you are applying for university studies or vocational training.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

It’s important to pay attention to the application deadlines for each Autonomous Community. Each region will have different application dates and electronic application platforms.

UNIVERSITY STUDIES

On the other hand, if you decide to pursue university studies, you will need to prepare for the University Access Evaluation (EVAU). We suggest reviewing the subjects you will need to evaluate depending on the university course you choose. You can prepare for it on your own or with the help of specialized schools that offer online courses.

It’s also important to know that there is a specific application process for foreign students (Phase 0), where if you are accepted, you may be exempt from the EVAU. You will need to check the application deadlines for each Autonomous Community.

STUDY STAY VISA

Once you are admitted to an authorized higher education institution in Spain, you can apply for your study stay. For more information on how to apply for a study stay in Spain, you can visit the following link:
